Soul healing & 5 element accumulation-
TIBETAN BÖN TSE DUP YANG BOD CEREMONY
With Adam Kane
Date: Saturday, 3/30/24 Time: 12pm to 6pm Shamanic traditions from around the world understand the importance of calling back aspects of self that have been disconnected from our consciousness through traumatic events or long periods of neglect. Tse Dup Yang Bod is the Tibetan Bön ceremony for soul retrieval and the reaccumulating of vital life essence and the 5 elements. This ceremony is performed to call back parts of our self that we have lost connection. By reestablishing this connection we renew our opportunities to live healthy and vibrant lives, to be more genuinely our selves, and to dispel apathy. |
This is a powerful ceremony that is the primary process for restoring Life Force, Longevity, and Soul Essence to individuals within the Tibetan Bön traditions. It comes from the 8th century text, "Tse Dup Jha Ri Ma", which contains special instructions for soul healing by TseWang Rigzin (the long life deity). These ceremonies have been passed down in an unbroken lineage from teacher to student since that time.
What Are the Ceremonial Components of Tse Dup Yang Bod:
Preliminary Practices- These are mantras and meditations that are performed prior to important Bon ceremonies to prepare ourselves to receive the blessings and deep healings on the ceremonies.
Petitioning of Tsewang Rigzin- Tsewang Rigzin is the Long Life Deity in the Tibetan Bon tradition. This is the spiritual being that cares for and cultivates life force, vitality, and longevity. By connecting to and petitioning this deity we align ourselves with the capacity to replenish these forces within ourself.
Accumulation of the 5 Elements- The 5 Elements of Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Space are the building blocks of all life and of creation itself. By performing the Elemental Accumulations we restore depleted energy and balance the 5 elements for improved health, emotional well-being, and vitality. Each element is associated with healing a poison of the mind and cultivating the wisdom associated with it.
Cho Lo- Divination with dice- This is a Tibetan practice of divination to determine the imbalances within an individual and the remedies needed.
Yang Lug- Ceremony of the White Deer- The White Deer is the primary steward of the soul. We petition the White Deer to find and collect soul essence that we have been disconnected from, to store it in a turquoise stone and then to deliver it back to the recipients of the ceremony.

What is Bön:
Bön is the indigenous religion of Tibet with its roots in shamanism and animism. It is believed that the Bön tradition originated in the ancient civilization of Zhang Zhung 18,000 years ago. Today there is a large amount of Buddhism infused into Bön but its shamanistic origins are still very strong. The passing down of the Bön lineage is done in a way to preserve its integrity and power.
